The Rama Exhibition Good News for the Earth…
And Great News for Bees, the Earth and People!
By Calley O’Neill
In an unprecedented vote on Monday, he European Union voted yes on a two-year ban of three major neonicotinoid pesticides. Along with shrinking habitat and pathogens, a growing body of scientific evidence has shown agricultural use of these pesticides to be a key factor in the dramatic decline of bee populations worldwide. Environmental groups, and researchers and all people that eat food are applauding this hallelujah wake up moment.
Bravo to Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, France, Cyprus, Germany, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia and Sweden for voting in favor of the ban.
The hope is that the ban will be made permanent and that this bold move by the EU will spur the ever so slow moving US to wake up to science and turn away from pressures from the toxins in the pesticide industry’s rhetoric and products.
Spread the good news broadly and enjoy some honey in your tea tonight!
YAY!
