British Petroleum is slashing production of gas and oil by 40% and shifting rapidly into renewable power generation.  Caught by surprise, industry analysts agree, this radical departure is expected to force other oil and gas companies to wake up and catch up.  BP acknowledges that ameliorating climate change requires that the supply of carbon-intensive energy be slashed.  BP is committing a third of its spending on renewable and low-carbon projects within 5 years! Mahalo nui loa to all the climate scientists and activists, especially the new generation of youth climate leaders for waking up the world about the pressing dangers of climate change and the hope of renewable energy to fuel a healthy future.
