Waiting On The World To Change

I love John Mayer’s song Waiting on the World to Change and, truth is, we can’t.  We can’t wait, and the Earth can’t wait and the children can’t wait.  Truth is that whatever we think, say and do right now really matters, and it seems to me from my heart of longing for the world to change, that Neil Young’s It’s Gonna Take a Lot of Love to Change the Way the Things Are, is what’s true.  Trusting that Neil Young will forgive me, I have taken the liberty to change a few words.

In fact, history shows that we have continuously broadened our scope, first to include women, blacks, other minorities in the United States, the disabled, gays, transgenders and now it is time, the wise ones share to broaden our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and nature.  We now open to love life.  One day I was walking on the beach and there were large beautiful block letters in lava that said LOVE LIFE, and it stopped my world and I felt the truth in it in my body.  That is the solution to every problem.  And, there is great hope in that…

Love is all we need.
